Chippawas original Presbyterian congregation was not organized until 1831, although the Presbyterian missionary and rule out of almost all Presbyterian churches in the Niagara Peninsula, the Reverend Daniel Ward Eastman, lots preached here, as early as 1807. Replacing the ancient manor hall, which was sold in 1909, a new brick one was reinforced in 1910 on the same site. A new church was built in 1960 and dedicated in January 1961. The second manse was removed to a lot across the street. A connecting passage-way in the midst of the old and new churches completed the 1960 building plans and only a modern sunburn-wall at its one end prevented a fire, in 1971, from destroying the new church. The fire that destroyed the old church revealed the mental home of the original 1842 church.
