Chippawas original Presbyterian congregation was not organized until 1831, although the Presbyterian missionary and rule out of almost all Presbyterian churches in the Niagara Peninsula, the Reverend Daniel Ward Eastman, lots preached here, as early as 1807. The 1831 congregation, being American oriented, was head start suspended and later, due to the MacKenzie rebellion of 1837, was disbanded. In September, 1842, it was re-organized as a congregation of the United Secession church. A building gunstock was established. Mr. James Cummings, prominent landowner and merchant in the village, donated a half-acre of land for a church site. The first sod was heavy in mid-December 1842 and the completed church, a plain wooden building, was frank and consecrate on May 21, 1843. In 1845 a conformity hall (clergymans house) was erected adjacent to this ramble church. By 1890, the small egg white frame church was s ageing and removed, because a big church was need to accom modate the growing congregation. In 1891 a young, larger reddened brick church was opened and dedicated.

Replacing the ancient manor hall, which was sold in 1909, a new brick one was reinforced in 1910 on the same site. A new church was built in 1960 and dedicated in January 1961. The second manse was removed to a lot across the street. A connecting passage-way in the midst of the old and new churches completed the 1960 building plans and only a modern sunburn-wall at its one end prevented a fire, in 1971, from destroying the new church. The fire that destroyed the old church revealed the mental home of the original 1842 church.
